Going on vacation had taken a lot of convincing from Annie and everyone he knew, plus a huge leap of faith on Auggie's part. His last vacation hadn't turned out so well, but he had high hopes for this one. It was an all inclusive beach resort, with small cottages for everyone that included all the luxuries one could imagine. There was a spa, optional dinners in the dining room, buffets, dancing, various ocean activities including surf lessons, wave runners and scuba diving. They'd been there a couple of days and were settling in fairly well. He woke up early that morning and wandered out onto the beach with a cup of coffee. Annie would be awake soon and they could decide how to spend their day.

The only thoughts that had been going through Annie's head over the last two days had been how perfect their vacation had been so far. Between the blue water and the blue sky and the white sand beaches, Annie couldn't remember the last time she'd felt so warm.
Add in the company she was with and Annie was in heaven. The first massage she'd had in years followed by a seaweed wrap and a salt bath and her skin had never been softer. She'd asked Auggie to test the skill of the spa staff that evening when he'd touched her from head to toe.
Waking up to the sound of waves on the beach and the smell of the ocean was the most incredible thing she could imagine and though she frowned when she realized she was in bed alone, she followed her nose to the coffee pot in the kitchenette and then went looking for Auggie. Dressed in nothing but one of his shirts, she yawned as she approached, then leaned over to press a kiss into his hair before sliding onto his lap.
"Morning."

His hand played across her hip bone against the fabric of his shirt. He liked that she was wearing his shirt and could almost imagine the way she looked in it. He rested his chin on her shoulder and took a deep breath.
"And a good one at that."

Tilting her head so she could press a kiss to his temple and nodded. "Very good. I woke up and you'd gone, or it could have been even better."
Outright flirting before she'd had a complete cup of coffee wasn't unusual, but the innuendo was something she was still getting used to with him... especially while sitting in his lap.

"Now see, you're making me regret coffee and the early morning vibe I had going. It sounds like your idea of a morning could have been much better."
He was still getting used to it as well, but it was a good thing to get used to. It was nice in a way, being caught by surprise like that. They were still new and it thrilled him in a way that little else did.

She hadn't moved from his lap; it was just a very comfortable place to be, at least for her. And since he hadn't made a move for her to move, she planned on staying where she was until he mentioned it or stopped doing that thing with his hand on her hip.
